Baghound — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 May 2026
This privacy policy explains what data Baghound collects, why, and how it is handled. Baghound is a desktop application for tracking gameplay statistics in Realm of the Mad God.
Who runs Baghound
Baghound is an independently operated desktop application. If you have any questions about this policy, reach out via the Baghound Discord server.
What data we collect
Baghound collects the minimum data needed to operate the subscription system:
- Your email address — collected when you start a trial or subscribe. Used as your unique identifier to track your trial start date, verify your subscription, and prevent duplicate trials when you reinstall.
- Subscription status — whether your subscription is active, cancelled, or on trial. Provided by Stripe.
- A rotating session token — a random identifier that lets us prevent account sharing. Contains no personal information.
We do not collect:
- Your name, address, phone number, or any other personal information
- Your in-game character data or gameplay statistics (these are stored locally on your own device only)
- IP addresses, browser fingerprints, or device identifiers
- Cookies or web tracking data
Payment data
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your card details. Stripe is a PCI-compliant payment processor and operates under its own privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
When you subscribe, Stripe shares with us only:
- The email address you used at checkout
- The status of your subscription (active / cancelled / payment failed)
- A Stripe customer ID used to look up your subscription
Where your data is stored
- Email + subscription status: stored in a Cloudflare D1 database (region: automatically selected by Cloudflare, typically EU/UK for European users)
- Payment data: stored by Stripe, not by us
- Gameplay data: stored locally on your own device, never uploaded anywhere
How long we keep your data
- Active subscribers and trial users: for the duration of your account
- Cancelled subscribers: retained for 12 months after cancellation in case of refund disputes, then deleted
- Stripe payment records: retained by Stripe according to their policy (typically 7 years for tax purposes)
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Deletion — request that we delete your data (this will also cancel any active subscription)
- Correction — request correction of any inaccurate data
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to how we process your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the Baghound Discord server. We will respond within 30 days.
Third parties we use
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
- Cloudflare — hosts our subscription verification system (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy)
- GitHub — hosts the app download and release files (GitHub Privacy Statement)
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page and the date at the top updated. Material changes will be announced in the Baghound Discord.
Complaints
If you believe your data has been mishandled, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk.
